I am starting out by posting a couple of pictures of the furniture pieces that I have collected in the past couple of weeks. I will start with my most favorite one.
This lovely ~ Buffet ~
I just purchased it on Craigslist this week at a very good price. It needs some repairs but it doesn't bother me because the more shabbier the better.... Love the shabby... I have an inspiration picture from a magazine which will follow. I don't know if I will sand & paint it or take a crack at using Annie Sloan's Chalk paint. What do you think? Now remember I am a beginner here, lol.. So I may start with a smaller project
Don't you just love the beveled glass mirror! :)
Don't you just love the beveled glass mirror! :)
I live in California and seems like we skipped spring and went right into summer, it's 93 degrees today....I guess it's a good week to get cracking on the painting... :)
Now for the inspiration picture :)
Here is a sweet shabby chair that I also found on craigslist, don't you just love craigslist... :) Just look at all the detail on this cutie....I guess I have to get me some small brushes for this challenge!
I don't know the age of this chair but it looks kind of Victorian to me. The seat part looks like leather, like maybe a tooled design, but feels like wood...??? What are your thoughts :) I want to paint it a shabby white of course... but do I paint the seat area as well? hummm :)
Thank you for visiting me on my new blog :) I will post more of my finds that I am going to attempt to paint and shabbie up
later this week.... Until then have a happy weekend everyone :)
Luvnhugs, Pauline
